Job description for Key Workers

1.        Build nurturing and secure relationships with the children and their families

2.        Support and monitor the development of a group of children aged 2-4 using your understanding of the children and their interests to assess their levels of development and teach them so that they achieve high levels of progress

3.        Assess and plan, where necessary, for your children in line with the new EYFS and preschool’s own curriculum and keep up to date with all relevant paperwork

4.        Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding their child’s progress, building a positive relationship with the whole family and reflecting the ethos of Clophill Preschool

5.        Complete the appropriate paperwork and liaise with shared setting when required

6.        Work with other staff members, SENDCo and other agencies to support the needs and achieve the best possible progress for the children

7.        Take regular group times following preschool’s format, bringing your own ideas and activities in

8.        Provide intimate care for the children e.g. changing nappies

9.        Help with set up for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session when required, this will include the emptying of camping toilet canisters

10.   Advise the Managers of any safeguarding concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary

11.   Attend in-service training courses and meetings as required and monitor and develop your own CPD

12.   Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Preschool Managers

To keep up to date with your children’s paperwork, we offer one afternoon of non-contact time every 2 weeks.
